Seawinds...

In the cold and dark december

As Im walking through the rain

Sit beside the room all night long

In the grey december morning

Took a train to nowhere- far away- far away

Many thousand miles away

When the moon took to the stars

Dreamed about the days- days gone by- days gone by

Chorus

In the night, the seawinds are calling

And the city is far far away

Soon the sea turns to darkness

It is night and the seawinds are calling

Seawinds gone, seawinds gone

Ten thousand miles away

Where the moon took to the stars

Dreamed about the days- days gone by

Ive been told so many stories

Of dreams my friends have made

So is no illusion- sail away- sail away

Chorus

Tiny Grace of God

In only 39 hours... you´ll be part of this world

and you´ll have an ethereal life at the beginning
plenty of love, smile and good wills

My best wishes for you
No one more than I can desire your arrive to this world
I hope the life has a great future for you
And I hope the people give you the better...
all the things that I never reached

Dream, breath, cry, sing, run...
Do everything that you want to do...

Never forget you have to smile against all
And please, keep looking for the true

I´ll never know you...

At the moment when you arrive, my departure begins
I know "he" will understand it...
I hope he show you this words to you...

Where are you?

A piece of me is broken... since a long time ago
And I really want you to understand this...

It´s so harmful to reach you and see a lot of coincidences...
And of course, a way with separate lifes, with different experiences on life
That´s why you named me "Alter ego"... that´s why I named you "Alter ego"

Today, ... I don´t know what to do
I don´t want to broke your life
I want to keep the things untouchables

But.. at the same time
I want to change your life
and change my life... too
... dreaming...
and keeping my soul and my hearth into the silence...

Nick Drake Bryter Later

Second effort of Nick Drake that seems to be futher in the symbolism of the previous one but... here sounds like a happy sorrow, large arrangments and special collaboration of no one but john Cale of Velvet Underground fame this work is not than melancholic as Five Leaves Left, but is sure that is a very good one, the things that Drake put in his songs are more introspection about the themes that worry him, specially why the human being is here in the world, and go deep in the tree, sun, moon and a new one that we can call "the city loleniness" in straight comparison to the "Rural melancholy" of the first one, other themes are woth to listen specially the "rapid" Hazey Jane part I and II who show the fight that Drake have with the drug habit, the endless summer days in Sunday and the remember of the cold mellow sorrow of Poor Boy.
After this work Drake suffer a real breakdown as we see in the famous last live record... pink moon.

Nick Drake Five leaves Left 1969

The magnum opus of Nick Drake one of the finest (if not the FINEST guitarrist of english poetic and dark sorrow), his symbols are the threes, the river, the sun and the moon, besides others, influenced by William Blake, buddism and english folk rock and a little bit classical he manage to create one of the finest records of the aging decade. His extraordinaire abilities to play the guitar in six diferent keys and his lyrics full of sorrows (Perhaps Uriah Heep was inspired by him in the tune "Man full of yesterdays") i recommend this great album to one that keep the flame of the real sensibility of greater things in earth, his dark poetry and sorrow is full of loneliness, depresion and french symbolism is absolutely unmatch. if you like folk guitar, somber arrangments and a darker and melancolich ambient this is your disc!
I personally recommend tracks "Three Hours", "River Man", "Cello Song" (the very first track that i hear form him in a obscure radio station) and "Day is Done".
this is for you Soul... as a present.... and a kiss

"Time has told me - You came with the dawn - A soul with no footprint
A rose with no thorn - Your tears they tell me - There’s really no way
Of ending your troubles - With things you can say"
